Baader 19 mm extension tube (for Alan Gee II)

Description

The 19 mm extension tube was developed for the Baader Alan Gee Mark II Telecompressor for SCT (#2454400). Thanks to its thin-walled design, it lets you place the Alan Gee II far enough into the baffle tube of a Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope so that the focal point sits precisely at the intended working distance. Without this extension tube, the corrector would often be positioned too far in front of the baffle tube and could not reach its full correction potential.

Note: The extension tube is normally supplied only as part of the complete Alan Gee II package. It is now available in limited quantities as a spare part. The extension does not replace the 7.5 mm T-2 extension of the Alan Gee Universal 2" Telecompressor (UAG II) (#2454405), but is intended solely to complement the Alan Gee II.

The Alan Gee II Telecompressor was specially developed for Schmidt-Cassegrains and offers a variable reduction factor from f/3.5 to f/5.9 – ideal for both photography and binocular viewers. With these extension you can experiment with different working distances or replace lost extensions. Because its optics can be recessed into the baffle tube of a C8 thanks to the thin wall thickness, it uses its own thread and is not compatible with our T-2 system.
